Mission Statement
Sanchin is the name of a Japanese karate self-defense form (kata) that means to strengthen and unify the mind, body, and spirit. This is our mission! Through our comprehensive program (using traditional Japanese karate, ancient Okinawan weapons, character development, fitness, health, and nutrition, as well as motor development), we aim to do just that: Strengthen and unify the mind, body, and spirit of each of our students.
This will be a fun, and yet, powerful learning experience that will not only positively
effect our students now, but have a profound effect that will carry them throughout their lives. Thank you for joining us in this pursuit of excellence. Thank you for joining Sanchin Karate Dojo.

Dear Shihan Gonzalez,
First, let me say that I appreciate all the sensei that
have been involved in teaching karate to my son Robert.
They have all been excellent instructors. However,
I wanted to speak particularly about Sensei Sierra Luna.
I wish to relay to you my utmost respect and
appreciation for Sensei Luna. I put Robert in
karate when we moved here with the hope that it could
help him overcome some of his difficulties (he is
diagnosed with ADHD), and help his self-control and
self-confidence. Sensei Luna's teaching has been
instrumental in helping him develop into the young man
he is today.
She has exhibited an unfailing positive attitude towards
him at all times, even in the beginning when I know
Robert was giving her a hard time. She expects the
best from her students, and relays that expectation to
them, instilling in them the belief that they can
achieve excellence. Because of her belief in him,
Robert has stayed with karate, attaining his Brown Belt.
Furthermore, Robert has increased his self-control, and
his self-confidence. I cannot stress enough that I
do not believe this would have been possible without
Sensei Luna's positive teaching style.
I have also had the privilege of having Sensei Luna as
my instructor. She is at all times very
professional, and yet also exhibits a care and concern
for her students. She is, in my humble opinion, an
excellent instructor able to motivate her students to
become the best that they can be.
Sincerely,
Beth Schiber |
