Get Fit, HAve Fun & learn A Valuable Skill
Get in shape and get focused, fast!
Martial arts, karate and self defense training is fitness with a purpose! Our system incorporates the benefits of cross training, interval training, strength training and aerobic training. Because we also believe that a sound body is only part of the equation, we also train to strengthen our minds and spirit. Our adult students tell us that their focus, their attitudes, and overall mental state have improved significantly since joining our program; not to mention that they are having a blast in the process!

At Sanchin dojo we teach the traditional Japanese arts of Shito Ryu and Ju Jitsu.
Shito-Ryu Karate
Shito-Ryu is one of the major schools or sub-styles of Karate. This Karate sub-style was formed in 1931 by Kenwa Mabuni. The name of the style “Shito-Ryu” is derived from Kenwa Mabuni Sensei’s two teachers: Ankō Itosu, a famous teacher of Shuri-te karate, and Kanryō Higaonna, a prominent teacher of Naha-te karate. Shito-Ryu combines aspects of both hard and soft, internal and external martial arts, such as physical strength and powerful stances as seen in Shuri-te styles such as Shorin-ryu and Shotokan, as well as circular movements and breathing power of Naha-te styles such as Uechi-ryu and Goju-ryu.
Japanese Ju Jitsu
Japanese Jujitsu, Ju-Jitsu, Jiu-Jutsu (roughly meaning Ju=gentle, Jitsu=art) is a close quarters Japanese martial art. Many of the techniques associated with Jiu-Jitsu can be traced back many many centuries through India, China and Japan and then later developed by Samurai for their unarmed combat fighting requirements. The art uses mainly joint locks, chokes and throws using the attackers own force against them.
